We had an excellent time. Dalton, our driver, picked us up promptly at our hotel and gave us each a bottle of water. On the way to the blue hole Dalton pointed out various points of interest and cheerfully answered any questions we had. When we arrived, Dalton introduced us to our wonderful guide, Ramon. Ramon took such great care of us during our time at the blue hole. He held my phone the entire time and took excellent pictures of everything we did. I’m so pleased looking over the videos and pictures. I haven’t even looked at all of them because he took so many! I cannot stress enough that our guide made us feel safe and comfortable. He also taught us about various plants in the forest and how the are eaten or used in home remedies. Very cool. I think we were at the blue hole for about an hour. It seemed like we could have stayed as long as we liked. They also have beverages and chicken for purchase if you wanted to chill out for a bit. After we said goodbye to Ramon, Dalton drove us down to the tubing portion of the tour. We also had our own guide for the river. Relaxing and singing we went down the river. Again there was a pit stop for a swim and drink of rum punch. All in all, this was a fantastic excursion away from the hotel. I highly recommend Marvyn’ Paradise Tours, Dalton and Ramon. You won’t be disappointed.
Mikie's driving was the best part! Love our guides, Denise, Mike, Mark and Tyree! Super helpful and hilariously funny! Totally recommend!
The communication was easy and we basically had a private tour which was amazing! The tubing down the White River was an overall favorite for half of our group as the water was beautiful and it was very fun! The Blue Hole was a fun experience and even though there were larger groups there, our tour guide took us right to the front and skipped over all the lines. It was amazing and worth every penny! But just know that each excursion is quite short, only about half an hour at each I'd say so set your expectations.
Dalton, with Marvyn's Paradise Tours, was our favorite guide of all our excursions. He drove us through town, pointing out important landmarks, even gave us a little bit of a history lesson. Regarding the Blue Hole, be prepared to jump! They'll give you a life vest. I believe you can climb the rocks down and swim across if you prefer not to jump. I hit the water wrong and got a huge bruise on my arm, but no big deal. For the river tubing, I was surprised it was just me, my husband, and our guide. He was great and even serenaded us. This was very quiet and relaxing.. I enjoyed it, but I could see it being too boring for thrill seekers. Bring money to tip! I'm not sure if they prefer USD or JMD, but we gave JMD.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and Dalton was a great tour guide. He kept the conversation flowing during the drive to our destinations and had loads of little nuggets of knowledge about the local area. Marlon was our guide at the Blue Hole and he took loads of great pictures and videos of us. He even managed to retrieve my iWatch after it fell off during one of the jumps. Dwight was our guide for the tubing and I highly recommend that you request him.
